The shift and pivot podcast

When life gives you lemons,
make a latte!

Together, Erika and Elliot decided to create this inspirational podcast during one of their monthly “happy hour and destress” sessions. The idea was birthed from a famous saying of Erika’s, “When life gives you lemons, make a latte,” which is basically letting go of everything you know to become a better you—aka, Shift and Pivot.

With their 35 years of professional HR experience, Erika and Elliot spent countless hours listening to people share their personal stories of how unpredictable life can be. When you combine that experience with Erika’s direct and witty personality and Elliot’s listening and conversation skills, you get the perfect chemistry needed for the Shift and Pivot podcast.

They hope that by listening to these thought-provoking, heart-pondering, and funny stories their guests tell each week, listeners won’t have to feel alone when they make their own life-altering decisions.

The Hosts of the Shift and Pivot Podcast

Erika Williams

a proud Chicagoan that enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering in her community, and traveling—has 15 years of professional Human Resource experience working for Fortune 500 companies, which has taken her all across the US. During that time, she made a few shifts and pivots in her own life, some on purpose and others “because Life just happened.” One personal fact about Erika that many people don’t know is that she has a delicious sweet potato pie recipe, and if you ask nicely, she might just bake you one!

Elliot Gamble

a Floridian that’s passionate about his work and in love with his family—has 20 years of professional Human Resource experience working with Fortune 500 companies. As a self-proclaimed conversationalist and experienced listener, Elliot has spent countless hours listening to people share their personal life stories, which includes a rollercoaster of highs and lows. When he isn’t recording for the Podcast or identifying strategic means to engage employees at work, he can be found traveling the world and experiencing different cultures and people.
